prescriptions
Hi, can anyone give me any advice my wife needs prescription drugs to be taken every day for thyroid and calcium they were covered in the Uk by an exemption certificate how does it work here in manitoba her first 3 months has just cost us $400:curse:

If it is anything like Ontario I think you just have to pay for them, unless you have insurance that covers it, but even then it might not apply to previously existing conditions or might have limits on amount they will pay in a specific time period or have ones they don't cover. All the prescriptions I have had to get in Ontario, not many, I had to pay up front and then submitted a claim to my work group insurance, they paid for a couple but some they wouldn't pay for as it was on some list they had of ones they don't cover, so those I just had to pay for. Fortunately not as expensive as the ones you have sound. You should try calling the Manitoba healthcare folks and see if there are any special circumstances that are covered etc.

thanks for your replys i think it was the calcium that push the cost up, i just thought i'd just ask on here cos your all just so helpful
