Preparing Furniture for Shipment

Some advice please.

We are arranging to ship 2 x leather sofas and armchair, dining table and chairs from Toronto to the UK.

How is this furniture prepared for shipping and by whom.

Do the shippers collect "As is" or do you have to wrap it.
What do you use to wrap it, etc

If we have to prepare the stuff for shipping, it will take additional time. Meaning that we will be without furniture from the time of the preparation for shipment is completed and collected by the haulier

Many Thanks.

Movers arrived en masse and export-wrapped everything at the house. Only thing you need to do is set aside anything you're taking as hand luggage and let them get on with it!

Check for lost coins underneath the cushions!

Shall we assume you're returning to the UK then?

I moved from Edinburgh to Red Lake, ON - I used Bishops Move from the UK end and they sub-contracted to a Canadian company at this end. Shipped 700cu ft, can't remember cost.

Try the Moving back to the UK forum for recent Canada to UK costs.
