Pregnancy during move

We are planning our move to Toronto this summer. However, we're finding the task of medical insurance somewhat daunting. If I got pregnant between now and the move or even during the summer just after we move, I won't be able to get cover on any insurance. I just wondered if anyone has had any experience of this and could offer any pointers. Thanks bunches, LinLaz

At the risk of being shot down in flames .... Perhaps you should delay getting pregnant until OHIP kicks in

As for insurance being daunting there are a list of companies on the wiki , get quotes, sign up with one.

We used canadasure.

You could use an Ontario Midwife. The following is cut and pasted from the AOM website.

What does it cost to use a midwife?
Midwifery services are completely funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, so women do not pay for care out-of-pocket. Women who are not currently covered by OHIP can still receive free midwifery care.
