I think that living somewhere you hate just for coin is beyond sad.
I would agree in principle, in a perfect world - I am now in a position to live where I want within reasons, but that's only because I worked for a greater part of my life in some particularly grotty countries in some fairly odious situations. Without the coin you can be pretty stuck.
