We drove 7 hours to get to St Stephen on Wednesday. Walked across the bridge to the US Border Control. Just told them we were there to validate our PR, and they took 15 minutes to complete the paperwork. All very polite and just conversing on how long it had taken us to get to that point. A good experience, and didn't have to wait at all. Once we had our administrative refusal, they told us to walk back across the bridge to the Canadian Border, which we did. Again we walked in and were called to the desk immediately. The gentleman took our COPR's, our passports and all our TWP's from having been here 7 years. He just asked us for our home address and the date that we arrived in Canada to live, and then just asked us to wait, he anticipated 15 minutes. In the end it took about 30 minutes, as he had to go through all the permits individually. He stamped our passports and entered the COPR number.
When he called us back, I checked my passport and he had inadvertantly entered the same COPR on both passports, so he did correct it and initial it, so it is worth doing that check.
He then took us through what our next steps were, and contragulated us. It was really a very unstressful process, and after the fact you wonder why you had worried about it.
