PR card Issue
I am canadian Permanent resident since 2002, I m doing a job right now out of Canada. I want to apply for PR card but the problem is I can't stay there for more than 20 days. So let me know will they deliver it onto my friend's address or I should be Physically present in Canada to pick up my card.
Also let me know how much time CIC is giving to pick up the card. I was also planning to come back and then enter in canada again for Picking up the card if they don't deliver onto my address. Pls reply me if u have gone through this process. Thanks |
If you are applying for the PR card using the forms as a current PR then you have no choice but to pick up the card in person.
Only a newly landing PR will get the card mailed to them, this is because CIC can complete the identity verification in person during the landing process so they do not need to see the person again. You have to be in Canada when you apply for the card and you have to be in Canada to pick it up. CIC will send you a letter when the card is ready and a date to pick it up. If you cannot pick it up on that dat eyou can arrange a different date. You are allowed 6 months to pick it up, after that it will be destroyed and you would have to re apply. |

Re: PR card Issue
One question pls, Someone else has said to me if I don't pick up the card on first call, they will send the 2nd letter, they will not give me new date for picking up the card, I mean to say if I ask them to give me new date after two months, will it be possible or not.
Sorry for bothering again.......... Thanks in advance. |
