Power Providers
I have had a look around the Wiki and can't seem to find any info on power providers in general. Is this all done Provincially? Is there any competition? I am just about to sign up with NB Power, which is why this came to mind. Do many people have solar panels? I know it can be 'somewhat chilly' in Canada, but you do have lots of hours of sunshine too. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Power Providers
(In Ontario) Most of the people with solar panels are doing it in order to sell back to the grid based on government subsidies, rather than for self sufficiency I suspect.
No competition where I am, HydroOne or nothing, but in some cities Im not sure if "the market" ever actually got some competition established. There was a plan for that to happen, but I dont think it ever really did. |
Re: Power Providers
All of this (power providers, solar panels) differs from province to province. There is no "feed in tariff" mechanism in Newfoundland so little point in having solar power here. I think Tangram has provided the most pertinent info, him being in NB and all.

Yes, AX, I agree -
Tangram, it would seem like you have hit my particular nail on the head, many thanks. |
