This is a Canadian's stupid mentality, in the UK everything goes through-yes that how it's spelt not thru-one check out.
In Canada you take grocery through one check out and then go next door for beer which is another check out which makes two, why can you not buy and pay for all at one check out ?? No problem in the UK you just put the everything in your trolley, pay for the lot and away you go simple

I am familiar with the process of purchasing alcohol, in NS, in ON, in the UK, in a great number of other places. I don't understand though why izzi81, who doesn't drink and isn't originally Canadian would be queueing up twice, is it to do with the price of eggs?

It doesn't bother me at all... you just get used to it and don't ever think about it.
Supermarkets close at 4pm on a Sunday in the UK...that's way too early. How stupid!!!!

Because that would be too easy. Sort of like going to buy a car then having to leave the dealership to go and get it registered and then returning to the dealership to show them the registration and valid sticker to put on your licence plate and then being allowed to drive it off the lot.

To protect the jobs of the pampered staff of the liquor control boards. It's daft, but is it life changing?
