The Mr Noodles 'Spicy' Chicken noodle bowl is a decent substitute we've found.

It markets itself as 'No MSG' but omits the fact that the noodles are pre-cooked in oil then dried. Who cares really as it's the taste that counts.

I once read that along with Twinkie Bars and radioactive elements, Pot Noodles would be the only artifacts to be found in an identifiable state in 10,000 years time.

Just think what the archaeologists of the future will make of us when they dig up a stash of Beef and Tomato Pot Noodles

I've often wondered why Marmite jars have a "best before" date printed on them.

Yup, but at least there will be something around.

Twinkies will outlast us all. They're the nearest thing that Humanity has to Immortality. Shame they taste like crap.

Souv - it's gotta be purely a marketing ploy. Eat it up quick so you have to go and buy another one. I mean, I love the stuff, but how can it possibly go off?!

Maybe it's for the jar itself.

It just couldn't be for what's in it.

Hah! Unbelievers all of you. Marmite is manna from heaven. In fact I've just enjoyed a marmite and cheese sarnie for lunch.

Ive always wondered what "manna" was. Now I know it means "shit"

To be fair I do get the occasional craving myself, but in my case that usually means I'm about to be laid out by the flu or something

We recently moved house and, in the process, disturbed a forgotten Marmite stash. We're now eating from a jar that dates from the period when saving the labels could get you a free record. Tested back to back with a jar that was new last November there was no difference discernable to us.
