Post Secondary Equivalency

Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen looking to move to the UK in 2010. I have a Diploma in Child and Youth Care from Macewan College in Edmonton Alberta. I have been looking at jobs in the UK and the specifications listed in the postings are equal to what I currently do at my job however I am unsure about the education requirements. Does anyone know where I can find out what my diploma is equivalent to in the UK

Hi you'll probably find more help on the moving to UK forum, not sure why you want to come here, I would seriously suggest a visit first, each to their own, good luck anyway!! :)

I've been to the UK three times already. It's not a permanent move - only a year or two so I'm more looking for a contract position. It's all about gaining experience. The only forum I see is for people 'moving back to the UK'.

Erm......perhaps the thousands of years of history, culture, beautiful ancient architecture, world class museums, stunning rolling countryside, proximity to Europe, etc, etc?!?

I appreciate that you are not a fan of where you are living Mags but please remember that there are many other beautiful areas of the UK that do not have the issues you don't like about Rotherham! The Cotswolds, Lake District, Cornwall, etc, etc, are all mind blowingly gorgeous imo. Not everywhere is awful. ;)

Anyway, in response to the OP, as Mags has suggested, try the MBTTUK forum as they may have some useful links to give you - I know it's for moving back to the UK, but there are many on there who have been away for a long time so may be going through the same thing. People on this part of the forum are either already in the UK or in Canada, so it's unlikely you'll find somebody who knows the answer here.

Or alternatively, I believe that there is a forum for Canadian Expats in British, just like this one but in reverse! So perhaps try a bit of Googling and see if you can find it.

Good luck. :)

I apologise oompa, I do tend to forget those things which are as you say gorgeous as are the peak district and most of Scotland. My issues are my issues and I should keep them to myself but they get out sometimes, they aren't as much about Rotherham, which is stunning in its own way :rofl:, but about the way the country is run but I'll not go into that.
Anyway Keisha cant fault you for wanting to experience more of the world, jujst ignore my views I get abit cranky in my old age sometimes ;)
Good Luck
