Obviously ball park figures here ......but how long does a letter take to arrive from Canada to UK and vice versa?
Just thinking about birthday cards etc for friends and family....

Mail from here to the UK is about a week. It seems to be slightly shorter going the other way.

The last posting date for Xmas cards to the UK is, I think, Dec 9th.

In the canada post office in fernie it suggest that a letter takes 4-7 days and a parcel takes 6-10 days to get to Europe. So I'd say to allow a week!!

I always allow about 10 days.......that is posting from BC to England. However, I am not usually that organised!!

I generally try to post earlier in the week if I can. Sometimes I have been surprised and it gets there under a week, and sometimes it takes 2 weeks.

A week - gosh it takes two weeks (no lie) to get letters to Ontario from BC! :mad:

That is using air mail they suggested that it could go by boat but to allow a month or two for delivery!!

Actually all letter post to the UK goes air mail.

Information here at the Canada Post Website.

Parcels could be another matter. :)

When we were in the UK, we sent a package ( unregistered ) to friends of ours in Kingston ontario, they received it in 5 days. People have often said that letters from the UK gets to canada quicker, compared to the other way round. Even within provinces, it takes forever for letters to arrive.

It will be nice to be able to receive saturday mails here in Canada, or even mails twice a day

That would be nice, but given Canada Post's record I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. :)

i posted 2 letters the same day, one to the insurance broker who is in calgary (as we are) and one to england to my mum - guess which got there first??!!

Calgary to england 6 days

calgary to calgary 10 days!!!!!
