Warts 'n' All has to be the way! I joined the forums today having applied for a visa a couple of months ago. Reading pretty much nonstop for the last seven hours has not changed my plans at all however it has very useful and provided a good reality check...

I was never under any illusions that it would be easy though the reported work situation is a bit of a surprise. It won't stop me coming though! After visiting Ottawa (my planned destination) this summer to look around, I got off the plane back in the UK and realised I don't want to be here anymore...

Keep up the "realistic" posts!

It's not as black as it's painted ... it's just not as rosy as it's represented by some interested parties ... the truth is somewhere in between.

I know it's not that black - I've been coming for 14 years visiting the inlaws in Quebec City (wife from Quebec) and have spent time in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. Finally decided now that I have children it's time to get out of here! I don't mind what I do for a job - it's all about quality of life at the end of the day.

Enlighten me further!
