Default Popped out for an English

Went to a English party last night in West New Annan, near Tatamagouche, NS, hosted by a Canadian, and met up with all sorts of Ex-pats, some here since 1963. She cooked meatballs and rice - ok but a curry would have been nice.

If it was an English party should there have not been proper traditional English food?

Swedish meatballs (we eat them with rice sometimes)
Italian meatballs
English meatballs - nope never heard of them

Because my interesting thread was deleted for self promotion, which was fair, but it was a fun ad. So I thought I'd add a useless thread instead.

There are so many answers to this but I shall stop myself for fear of being told off!
