Any one from UK either looking at Police jobs in Toronto and can share how application is going g or received ?
Also anyone now in a force and from UK can share experience or DM me ?

Do you have PR or Citizenship? Most Police Departments (Provincial / Federal) require candidates to be one or the other.

Hello mate

I am ex job and moved here ten years ago. I found it very difficult to find a force which would take me direct from UK, including Toronto. Calgary ran a specific recruitment campaign several years ago which included assistance with immigration. They received dispensation to recruit non citizens.

Most forces only recruit those who have attended the Canadian police academies or federal service such as the Canadian Military Police transferees.

Many end up in provincial enforcement units or the Sheriffs Departments (prisoner transport/court guard etc). Alberta Sheriffs have quite a few ex British officers.

I have some connections with Toronto police, I will see if I can find out if there any programs you can use and will PM you.
