Police Checks - Update Request?
 

We submitted SW route - PR back in June 2007 and I cant remember the dates but sent the police certs along with the usual forms.

Medicals done between Jan/April 2010.

Now CIC are requesting updated police certs, I guess these run out after a certain time, a year?

Is this normal for a second request nearing completion?

This may be useful info for anyone wanting to know timelines!

Rang up acpo and they say certs are only valid 3 -6 months. So we'll have to re-new 3 certs, more delays!

Well I've been told by immigration lawyer they just need these update police certs and PPR will then be requested.

So hopely June 2007 applications should be through by xmas? :fingerscrossed:

Anyone else heard anything?

They asked me for updated police certs a few months ago. As we've been living in Canada since 2008, I asked if it was really necessary and they came back and said no.
Still no sign of PPR here. We're going back to the UK at Christmas so I was really hoping we could "land" when we return to Canada.
Will let you know if/when we get PPR.

Edit. Have you paid the RPRF yet? We hadnt, and after the medicals and police check situation was sorted out, they started mithering for the RPRF. We paid it promptly, hoping this was a sign they were ready to send PPR. Their standard reply was they dont expect to issues visas until around December time.

Yep paid RPRF absolutely ages ago!!!!

From what I read CIC want to issue the PR just need the update police certs now. So I'm hoping that's not going to take months!

I thought PR visas are issued by the time the medicals run out, I can see yours was done later than ours. Four out of five of ours were completed in Jan, the remaining in April. So could this be the difference?

I did get a message from CIC saying that they highly recommend that we should not book flights. Well that's too late, we fly out Jan. So like you hope they come in time! Anyway I missed out on summer hols, so need a break and I want to see Canada in the winter for the 1st time. :eek:

I hear people talking about waiting for PPR from medicals but haven't come across people saying about second police checks requests???

Have to wait and see how others are doing now, keep us posted!

We've just been asked to get new police checks - and new medicals (as ours ran out in August). Have been waiting for decision on our son, who was declared "excessive demand". That has all been sorted out now (hurray!) but in the meantime, medicals and police certs ran out. But after nearly 4 years of waiting, another few weeks is nothing!!
