Police certificate needed...maybe...please help!
Hi,
I am currently researching my common-law partner application and saw that I will need police checks from countries I have lived in since I was 18. But, does anyone know if this means for 6 months CONSECUTIVELY.... I was in Germany for a Year Abroad (quotation marks) for uni. I never lived there for more than 6 weeks at a time (I have flight stubs to prove) as I traveled home to visit often. But I was living there and was considered a resident there from Oct 04-July 05. Now Im just wondering whether CIC will need a police check for this or not. I did have an apartment and was studying and living there... I am currently on a BUNAC visa and for this I didnt need a German check, they said for 6 consecutive months. Would an application for common-law be the same.. (sorry, no question mark working on my computer atm!) Thanks so much for your help in advance! |

Re: Police certificate needed...maybe...please help!
The German's are very efficient (as you know lol). Bonn processed dh's very fast, but lost mine (go figure, posted at the same time lol). It still only took about 3 weeks to have both in our mitts. Be aware that you will need to then get a certified translation into either English or French before you send them off. This is extremely frustrating, as effectively you pay for a two word translation ('no trace', lol).
Anyway, it's not a drama, I'd just get it done. |
