Points confusion help needed please
 

Hi everyone
I really am Dazed & Confused at the moment :confused:

Me and my husband are currently in the process of getting our application stuff together after deciding to go for it,a seed has been planted in my husbands head on the education points available to him.

Briefly: he is a time served Sheetmetalworker with all certificates but he also has a H.N.C (studied for at college part time after work) the question is does this count as the equivalent of 14 years full time study along with his trade?
or does only his trade count with the basic 12 years full time study e completed in normal school
We need the 14 years or equivalent to boost our points or we will fall short.

For those confused a H.N.C is normally studied over 2 years full time but due to work & family commitments he completed it in his own time at college during an evening.

P.S I am a time served chef

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if you can count the HNC for the extra two years education required, but I have another point.

Is an HNC considered two years full time? I recently completed a three year HND part time, and was awarded an HNC after two years (of part time study).

Having looked at a web site for a local college, they are offering HND's as full time two year courses (with options for part time to earn an HNC instead) Also, consider that a full degree only takes three years full time.

Sorry to suggest some possible negative issues, but I really think you need to find how much the HNC is worth. I really do hope that the HNC is worth two years full time study, so please prove me wrong!
