I know that custom's, body scanners etc can be an issue to some but they are neither here or there to me and my family. There isn't a great difference in the price or duration of flight's routing through Toronto or the US, the only airline that stands out price wise is Canadian Affair and from what I have read about them they wouldn't be my first choice. (That should produce some rapid replies:rolleyes:). Again, thanks in advance. |

It's a charter ticket really and you get what you pay for.
If you want the nicest seats, the best food and the best service then you usually have to pay a bit more in the Western Hemisphere these days. I did a bit of looking around though and CA seemed to offer a great price if you just need to get there, even when you add on the club class upgrade. |

I would consider them (club class for the baggage allowance) but if I have my timelines correct then from being granted an LMO:fingerscrossed: to going to Canada we will only have a 5 week window. The flight that we would want may not even be available. Still haven't had much responce to my initial question though. Toronto or Winnipeg as point of entry? Thanks all.:) |

I'd say Winnipeg is the best POE to land at with an immigrant visa, there was a pretty long queue when I did it at Pearson.

Also, if you went via the US you may need to acquire a proper B2 tourist visa, as technically you won't qualify for Visa Waiver as you are ending your journey in North America and *at the time of entry to the US* you are not a permanent resident of Canada. Whether a CBP officer would be so anal, I do not know.
You are eligible to apply for admission under the Visa Waiver Program (Visa Waiver Program) if you: ..... * Travel may not terminate in contiguous territory or adjacent islands unless the traveler is a resident of one of those areas; |

You could avoid this by flying Air Canada and booking a return for the furthest date in the future they have and you can change the date for the return for 150 ca$ |
