Hi

We purchased a down converter - sorry dont know the site but definitely through the internet so you will need to do a google search or something to find out.

The PS2 works fab on it - but dont foget that you wont be able to play Canadian games on it.

Hijacking thread now (but maybe worth it) :

Would any of you techno buffs know if there is a way to make the PS2 machines multi regioned - like the DVD's ???? The way that you used to be able to get PS ones chipped I think that it was called in the UK.

Think it is a valid question !

Hi Gaynor ,

We had ours chipped before we came and it works fine with both english and canadian games. The only problem we have now is the system is old and I have no idea if anybody can fit the chip into a new ps2 in PEI.

My cousin in Oshawa knows of somebody who can fit one but that is a bit far to travel !!

To the original poster we brought the voltage changer from www.voltageconverters.com

Hi , what is the wattage (I think that's what it's called )on the converter you use. My son has a PS2 he wants to use.

We were told to go to our local 'China Town' and ask in the Lucky Seven supermarket. We had bought the PS2 here in Canada, and then had it chipped.
It works fine on our Toshiba, but it won't work on the cheap Wally's World (sorry Walmart) TV. It plays both UK & Canadian games.

Re: PLAY STATION 2

I think that Phil bought 2500 watt for the PS2 - but we do run a TV, dvd and video off that too.

Did the supermarket chip the PS2 whilst you waited ???
