Interview got waived.
Did my medicals on Dec23rd
Report went out of doctors office on Jan8th(It should have reached the embassy on Jan12th or jan13th)

Dear Shankar,

good luck with the wait, it could be long one.............I have been waiting since the last one year and now the medicals have been lost by the Ottawa immigration people.............Expect anything, and dont be gung ho till you get the passport stamped and in your hands.

I did my medical in Sep 2002. Still waiting for the passport request. I am bit unlucky as I received a letter from CIC that they are doing my background checking and it make take 6-9 months. Never heard of any such letter from anybody. If u know someone then pl let me know.

Anyone w/ same experience at NY Consulate?
 

I have also been waiting for my passport request from the New York Consulate. I submitted all FINAL documents and payment in December 2002, but still no word from them, inspite of a letter end of February requesting status. When posting your experience, please make sure to mention which Consulate you are dealing with, so we can see if there is a pattern somehow.

- got interview waiver
- Madical exam conducted Feb 2002
- just got letter, it says they are checking background and it
will take 6-9 months !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing to do but Waiting........

maybe everyone should also post which country they are from originally, or which countries they have lived in, so that everyone knows how long the background checks take depending on which country the applicant is coming from

Notice of Assessment interview request in Seattle April 2 2002
medical Oct 3 2002
Interview Jan 28 2003
Paid ROLF as request Feb 19
passport request letter: how long?

I wanted to know,how long does it take for get passport request letter after paid ROLF as request at Seattle,USA?
Any expert can tell me? Many thanks for reply!

Could you pl tell me about your home country , I have also received this kind of letter from CIC Buffalo. Timeframe of my application is as follows

Application Submitted :- 22nd Sep 2001
Initial Assessment :- 16th Sep 2002
Interview waived off
Medical :- 26th Sep 2002
Letter from CIC Regarding
Backgroun Cheking(6-9 month):- 21 Jan 2003
Another letter from CIC to send information in new forms on Mar 10th 2003. Submitted on Mar 18th 2003.

Don't worry.You are not alone. Lots of people are there with you in the same boat..

I applied May 2001 (skilled persons )

AOR received June 2001
post: London, UK

Interview : Sep 2002
Medicals: Oct 2002
Additional docs submitted: first Nov 2002
ROLF paid: end Jan 2003 (not requested)

what is the status of the application, I'm not sure.

haven't heard anything since the interview. do you think it ought to be 'waiting for passport request' stage ??

how do I confirm that all is in place, that all the items have been recieved.

have not heard anything from them yet.

Any comments, I'll be grateful.

Hi,
We recd our passport request dated March 11, 2003 on March 13, 2003. We were given the option to get the passport stamped in person, and got that done on March 19, 2003.

We have the exact same timeline. Interview was waived from Buffalo and the medicals were sent from the doctor's office on Jan 8/03. We are still waiting for passport request.

If you don't mind can you please let me know if you are US citizen? If not, how long have you been in the states?

1. Sponsorsip application received in Missisauga: May 29, 2002
2. Letter received that the application was approved: July 25, 2002
3. Started processing application in Buffalo: November 18, 2002
4. Letter received with request for a medical and interview waived: December 2002
5. Medical documents mailed by doctors office: January 8, 2003

Hi Moe,
In person stamping option varies from case to case.
Generally it takes to 2 to 4 weeks it seems if you send it by courier. SInce I dont want to send the passport by courier I did it in person.

medicals question
 

i just got my interview waiver apr 2003.

In the initial assessment letter,
IT says, DO NOT conduct medical examination till 6 months have elapsed. else u risk doing it too soon and may have to do it all over again.

What should I do, do it right away and do it again, or wait for the timeframe mentioned.?

Hi I have finished my Medicals on 11th May 2003, the Medicals were sent by the Chief Health officer in Ottawa in Ottawa to the London CIC on 18 th June 2003, I have yet to hear a request for my Passports , Hope I hear some thing Positive soon.
