Default PEI here we come

We are a family of 8 origionally from the UK but we have lived and worked in France for the last 12 years, now we are putting plans in motion to move to PEI as soon as possible.
All the children are obviouly fluent in French and have had all their education in French. Does any one have any experience of the french school system on the island?
My husband is a welder fabricator and will be travelling out early next year with the intention of finding work.
Any expats on the island who have any advise for us please?

Not much use for French on PEI I don't think. More so in New Brunswick.

About 140,000 people on the Island. Farming is big. Unemployment numbers a bit skewed because of family farms and under the table farm work.
