paying for advice

Hello, Im new on here so please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place.

Has anyone been asked for payment when registering interest to immigrate to Canada?

We have been contacted by a company who offer to guide clients through every stage in their immigration process. On logging on to fill in online forms we have been asked for $400. is this normal?

Thanks in advance

Its just bewildering knowing where to start. I'm glad I've found this forum.

:welcome:

Grab yourself a cup of coffee and click the link for the Wiki at the top. It has buckets of information about the various immigration routes, and then once you have some questions post back here and you'll find tons of people who can help provide answers.

Good luck! :)

Welcome to our little club. What route to immigration do you have in mind? If you are eligible, you shouldn't need an immigration company. If we can do it - anyone can...
Good luck!

There is no reason to pay for something that you can do yourself.

Not sure really, how do you find out if you are eligible? I read that there is a points system.

As has been suggested earlier, have a good read of the Wiki section. It's the fourth tab from the left on the blue bar above. It contains a wealth of information and should answer most of your questions. Enjoy the read.

The points system isn't relevant to all visa routes.

As said above, start with the Wiki and them once you've figured out if you'd qualify for a visa or not, you can come back and ask more questions about it.

Good luck.
