Packers come today...
 

Well I think they come today - we were confirmed today in writing but no one told us what time they'd show up :blink: but since I hardly slept last night I'll be ready for them anyways!

Very nervous about important things getting packed so am rushing around trying to scoop them all together!

Anyways - we're using Whites so I'll let you know what I think after they finish tomorrow!

Don't know why I'm so nervous!!! :eek:

Ours came in on Monday Just told them what was staying and they just got on with it really efficent we didnt have much to pack so they had everything done in a couple of hours .
All the best and just keep all your important documents etc passports landing stuff with you so they dont get packed accidently

We are using Whites also so will be very interested in hearing how your move goes. We have them booked for 26th/27th September. Good luck:)

Good luck -they'll be done in no time - whirlwind comes to mind.

And yep, keep those passports and file of documents well out of the way - go and lock them in the car or something !!! :p

Well - day one over! First to correct myself; we went with Doree Bonner not Whites (way too tired this morning!)

First day gone well - very nice guys and very helpful. Still a lot to do though. Feels very weird not doing anything but watching!!!

Remember to not leave things lying around as it'll be packed before you know it. My Y-C-Ds winter jacket vanished into the container and we had to buy another we land in January.

More importantly, set aside all your documents and marked them not to be packed. :thumbsup:

Hi Rosie - they're charging us £4010 for a 20ft container, 12 weeks storage, with both a pack and unpack service to go from London to Langley, BC.

So far I'd recommend them (but don't get sucked into their insurance - its double what we got our marine insurance for from Letton Percival - much to Doree Bonner's dismay!)

Great advice and what I've been most paranoid about! We actually set aside a small room to store everything that isn't getting packed! (We're into rented for 2.5 months!)

Thanks, I think we are looking at about £4000 that seems to be what other peoples quotes are. I just wanted a figure to keep in mind.

Thats great news.... We are in throw away mode - our packers coming next Friday! I phoned the removals company to ask what preparations we could do but they said " put your feet up and have a cup of tea!" It does seem very strange leaving them to it, but from reading up on past threads thats what you do. Let us know how it all goes, See you in Langley x
