Our first Summer in NS

:D

Well I have to say it , how chuffed we were with our first Summer

We have lived in the South of England for years and South Brittany, not to mention Ireland,

This is the best Summer we have had in years

I hate rain, and I have to say it, you get allot less here than you do in Uk/Ireland.

I don't care what anyone elses says, we spent a miserable Summer in France last year - it rained everyday for 6 weeks :(
And I know Uk and Ireland were not much better.

We even tried Spain some years ago- toooo Hot, could'nt stand that all the time

No, have to say it, though the locals keep saying, Summer was'nt too good this year. All I can say is - "so it gets better than this?"

Most people I ask love the Fall, so we are looking forward to our first.

And yes we are really looking forward to the Snow......ok, so it snows allot here, is'nt that one of the reasons why I came here in the first place

-4 Real Seasons - the way they should be !!

One thing though, we will not miss the mossquito's, much nastier than the French ones.

But that's ok, because next year we will invest in one of those power zappers that you put on the side of your house.

Those pesky Mozzies , won't ruin our fun

We just love it here :)

The locals here say the summer wasn't that great but it's a huge improvement on Scotland thats for sure (our 3rd summer here). We used our pool loads this summer.

Fall is spectacular. Years ago I used to dream of going to New England in the Fall for the colour. Well, you don't have to bother because NS is stunning. We flew to Orlando in October 2007 - from the air NS was a blanket of orange and red .

You will take many drives out and about to see the full glory of it all.

Yep fall is truly beautiful here. Can't wait to get out and about!

And going off the summer before, this summer has not been too nice up until about mid-August, then it was beautiful. A full summer from mid-June is just amazing, roll on next summer!!

And for the mossie's - try to attract some bats! They are only tiny like Pipistrelle ones. We have about 30 in our loft, we put a sheet down for the guano which we remove every fall once they disappear to hibernate. Hardly any mossies or black fly round our house, and they make a lovely display when they all push each other out of the way to come out at night:thumbup:
