Default Osoyoos BC, what to see, where to go etc.

Have a week booked in a resort in Osoyoos next week, have only been as far as Kelowna before. What is there to see, do, places to eat, trips across the border etc?

Travelling with a two year old, very much appreciate any replies.

Thanks very much

Is there anything in Osoyoos? We went down to the border once and I don't really remember much about it, apart from all the fruit stands!

I will say my memory is not what it was, so hopefully someone more helpful will be along very soon!

Most of the people go there for summer, it's a bit of a ghost town outside of the summer months, there isn't too much there really.
Check out the Home Hardware store on the main street though. It looks small but inside it is huge and has just about anything you'll ever need. Awesome place for a wet day. Lol

There is a very good model village and railway in an industrial shed just outside town - your 2 year old might like it. It looks quite unassuming from the outside but its pretty impressive inside:

The Burrowing Owl Winery is supposed to be good too, although we haven't been there ourselves.

There are lots of nice places to stop in between Kelowna and Osoyoos that are well within a day trip's reach e.g. Penticton, Vernon, Summerland, Peachland, etc.

Some Canadian friends of ours absolutely raved about the Home Hardware store - lol!

Have fun!

Take a book, a portable DVD player, some DVD's, and some INBREDAWAY to keep the locals at bay

There are loads of wineries to visit within a few miles of Osoyoos. The Burrowing Owl is a good one and I am very partial to their produce. I would also visit Nk'Mip. This is a native owned and operated winery and resort. Try the Pinot Blanc.

Just north of Osoyoos the desert centre is worth a stop. There are not many places in Canada where you can see cacti growing in the wild.
