Open bank account online

I am moving to canada on the 10th Jan.

Is there a chance I can open a bank account before I arrive? how long does it take?

If not how long and what papers are needed to open bank account?

which banks are the best in vancouver?

Ratehub.ca is a useful site to compare financial offerings.
EQ Bank, Tangerine and Simplii are online banks equivalent to First Direct in the UK.
Each online bank is backed by a larger institution.
Eg Tangerine by Scotiabank
