Thanks for the feedback everyone 
I was pretty apprehensive at first. Partly because I was excited about going "home" and partly because I was worried some of the issues which informed our decision to leave Montreal may still be issues in Amsterdam. At the end fo the day though, circumstances mean going back to Edinburgh may not be a viable option and Amsterdam is at least a lot closer to both of our families in Kent and Sheffield (but not so close we will want to murder their faces lol).
