That would be lovely.

Remember how deprived we felt when booze was in the supermarkets but still off limits for certain hours?

I must admit I don't do much online shopping - apart from the site mentioned above, I only really get stuff from Amazon.
I have used knitpicks, but I like Jamiesons, which is what I meant by ordering from Scotland. They used to do needles and accessories, but I don't see a link now.

Later edit: I ordered from Jamieson direct. I don't think their Canada distributor CVF were up and running, last time I ordered.

I fell in love with Knitpicks sock yarn and their options needles.... but then again, I am a sock-knitter who likes to use circulars...

I also love the fact that I can get their catalogue that I get in the mail circle everything I want and give it to Mr Chookie so that he knows exactly what to buy me for Christmas.... even if he does shudder at the price.

I have always done pretty much all my Christmas shopping online in the UK. Earlier this year, I was stung (badly) by UPS for a large item ordered online and delivered from the US, and I won't be trying online shopping again here. The local shops are going to do very well out of me from now on But yes, I miss the simplicity of online shopping.

Yes, I've bought circular needles from Knitpicks. But, I usually do Fair Isle Knitting using double pointed needles.

The ironic thing is that a lot of those major corporations switched to Yodel because they found the Royal Mail to be unreliable.

I wonder if the lack of online shopping in Canada is a result of the fact that it's a country of continental size with a tiny population strewn across which has expensive transit infrastructure and post service... (at least when compared to the tiny blip on the map known as the UK)?

That's a justification? I thought it prided itself as being a first world modern country?

I think it's as close to a justification as you might find on this subject to be honest.

Valid or not some are outraged at the shipping prices to Canada and within our own borders. Apart from the mail that Canada Post has a monopoly on
the rest is open to the market. As for those complaining see if you could operate such a business for less than they charge.

Who would want to? Apart Toronto and Vancouver and their various suburbs who'd give a crap about the middle bit with nobody in it?

It is annoying that we can't buy grocery online here. Sobeys and Superstore don't even have product list on their website.

We used to use Sainsburys online grocery shopping and get delivered every week. It was fabulous. Now we have to go to the supermarket and look for things we need (sometimes it is difficult to find things) and queue for checkout for ages!!!

Even when you check on Futureshop and Canadian tire websites, it says in stock in your local store, but when I go there and find out they don't have it!!!
