thanks for your prompt respond soconnell74. I live in London and you can imagine how expensive it is. What is the average price of a house in Toronto. Say a nice 3 or 4 Bedroom house, with a nice Garden. Also I have seen some estate agent sites that are advertising bedrooms as 3+1, what does the +1 mean. Many thanks and Kind Regards,

You are most welcome.
After reading your qualifications in your present position........... Each of the 10 Provinces has a Ministry that is concerned with " Consumer Protection" with a number of different titles. Each of them would be interested in your training and education, and experience. In Ontario, you should be talking to the " Ministry of Government and Consumer Services ". The head offices of that Ministry are located in Toronto, which is the Provincial capital city. Here is the general information website for that Ministry. Read it carefully and send a email now, for a interview when you are actually here in Toronto. http://www.gov.on.ca/MGS/en/ConsProt/050451.html Perhaps you should also look at some of the larger cities within the Province of Ontario, such as Toronto, London, Ottawa , Hamilton, and Mississauga, for their bylaw enforcement departments, which are more focused on municipal regulations, for business and home owners, such as building codes, licencing of tradesmen, and signage. Individual municipalities advertise employment vacancies in the local newspapers, in particular the "classifieds " section of the Saturday edition of the Toronto STAR, and the Globe and Mail newspaper , also on Saturday. Look for both of them, online. Jim Bunting. Toronto. |

Re: One week trip to Toronto
I didn't realise that you were not at the point of having nearly received your OK to come here as an Immigrant. In any case, it will not be a waste of time to "test the waters " while here. Having said that......Remember that Canadian employers cannot hire those who are not yet legally allowed to work in Canada, and have documentation to that effect.
It is really hard to arrange a job here if you are not able to "start work soon " as employers are looking to fill the job vacancies as soon as they can. If you would like, you can contact me at [email protected] Jim B Toronto. |
