One week to go!

Hello everyone,

We'll be arriving in Toronto next Tues and hubby has a couple of weeks before he starts work so it's going to feel like a bit of a holiday to begin with. Where do you suggest we visit? We have a 3yr old and a 15 mth old.

Also, do you ever have expat meet ups in Toronto?

Cheers

Leish

A week and a bit: drive to Washington DC, via PA, see a lot of museums and monuments, drive on to Nag's Head, sit on the beach, stop in some National Parks and get chased by bears. Pick up some cheap booze and/or building materials on the way back.

Yes, we meet irregularly. Some of us met this past weekend.

Go up the CN tower and jump on the glass floor at the top.

There is also the Toronto Zoo, Canada's Wonderland, Ontario Place and many other attractions.

If you have a week and a half, yes. You can go to the zoo on an ordinary Sunday, to the 1000 Islands for a weekend, up the CNN Tower one lunchtime. No point in wasting a long break on those places.

Why anyone would want to suffer Canada's Wonderland I can't imagine. Ontario Place went out of business.

Good point. I reckon we'll probably never leave The Beach!

You won't.
Buy a Weber within 24 hours of landing and get some propane. The weather's beautiful. Just kick back, cook some ribs and enjoy the breeze off of the lake. Good time to arrive.

Couldn't agree more. With a 3 year old and a toddler even less so.

I've been there once in 30 years. Never again (obviously). But I drive by it on the way home from work (although not on my way to work in the mornings). This latter point is connected with the location of the Beer Store at Jane & Major Mack, but the pass-by once a day always makes be shudder.

Its marketing is not aimed at people of advancing years.

Hence the (obviously). It's not aimed at 3 year olds either but rather at people who's IQs are lower than the weight in pounds of their brains.

Why not get an actual barbecue?
