One-Way Ticket

Hello, do the immigration people have any issues with one-way tickets as we will be going on a work visa soon with our PR being processed & we only need one -way tickets,ta.

I don't believe they have any particular problem with arriving with a one way ticket - Our eldest's boyfriend arrived last year on a one way..... It took him a while longer to get through customs, being a young hoodlum on his own etc.
I would suggest (as he did) have documents to support your case, they will want to know where you are staying, get a letter or rental agreement or something to verify that kind of thing.
All the best - I'm sure they'll not send you back

Sometimes, yes, they do have an issue with it - people on here have reported problems in the past. Remember that if you are going on a TWP you can be asked to prove that you are intending to return to the UK and show ties too (I know you're applying for PR but until it's granted that's not really relevant unfortunately!). So not sure how a one way ticket would fit in with the 'intending to return to UK' thing.

Plus of course, it's often cheaper to buy a return than a one way.

Good luck. :)

Canadian immigration will have no problem with it if you are arriving with a work permit (or getting it issued at point of entry).

What you may have a problem with is the airline. If you have WP documents then should be fine. Get to the airport early so you have time to figure it out if you hit a problem.

Buy a fully refundable one way ticket with Air Canada. Then cancel it :)
