Snap. With three females in the house the GHD's were a must. The new UK ones work perfect. Happy ladies means happy husband & father

I was worrying about not being able to buy any GHDs also, mine are quite old also so they are not the dual voltage ones. We are moving to Edmonton in 2 weeks and i cant live with out them! would I be better buying a new pair here or waiting until I get over there?:confused::confused:

For me personally, I'd buy a new pair in the UK. Better the devil you know and cuts one thing off your shopping list on arrival. :-)

Hey I'm no experts in the world of hair straighteners and to be honest my $34.99 ones from winners are fab - daughter loves hers to. 'Much better than your old ones Mum' But I will say I have never seen GHD's in the shops here so I wouldn't have a clue where to send you:rofl: So Maybe getting some of these new fangled Dual Voltage things that the others have mentioned would be best. (GHD's were not a 'thing' when we left the UK.'

I took the plunge and ordered some new ones from GHD yesterday - they arrived today, and now have pride of place on my mantle piece - at least until my husband gets home!!

If you get a chance to try them you should - you will never go back

Are they not mega money? I'm bit tight when it comes to beauty products - comes from too many years struggling for money. I went into shock once when my newly moved in now husband just dropped 1000 pounds on a telly, he had to sit me down and get me a drink - I'm afraid I still have that mindset on many things.

I live in Edmonton, and they've just starting selling GHD's in my hairdressers - something like $300 tho!! I bought the mark 4 GHD's before coming over last year and they work great.

chi is pretty much exactly the same as GHB's. I had chi ones when I was out here the first time and they were fab. I now have Corioliss ones, they're dual voltage and I love them.

I've found when you try to buy stuff like this here they push you towards the european ones as they say they're better quality. :)

GHDs are the best... CHI a close second... both pricey. On my last visit to toronto I used an adapter on an old pair of GHDs and they worked ok. This year i'm going to splash out on a voltage converter, so hopefully they'll be back to working order. :D

This link may be of use to people - looks like GHD's are NOT the best:eek: But pretty close!
