:) Well the Olympics have started just watching th e opening ceremony before I go out and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on it.
Will you be cheering for Canada or U.K?

If I watch it will be Britain then Canada, but to be honest I am very disillusioned about the whole thing. The whole thing seems to be an exercise in big business, and who hides their drug use the best. Plus to spend so much on stadiums etc when people are suffering around the world in abject poverty cant be right.

Not much sign of the olympic corinthian ideals anymore. Maybe I'll get into it once it starts, but right now "I could(nt) care less" (theres one of those canadian phrases that doesnt mean what it says)

I find the opening and closing ceremonies to contain vast amounts of male cow manure and be a pointless waste of time and money. Just get it started and finished. If you wanna throw a large amount of money down the drain, give it to some charities, they would use it in a better way.

I also find the minority sports more interesting but they don't get the coverage. Give me the winter olympics anyday, I can happily sit and watch them for hours.

I'm looking forward to watching different sports from the usual stuff we got in the UK - I'm looking forward to the triathlon and moutain bike events.

I'm not so aware of big business involvement in the olympics, but then again we have the NHL .....

:) :) Have to agree with you Simon will be cheering the Brits on!! Looking forward to watching Man U on Sunday too will be listeneing to the radio on the internet on Saturday, I love my footie!!!

:( Am trying too but it will always be the footie to me!! My kids have already started telling me off for calling the yard the back garden I now have to say supper for teatime, guess their old mum will no doubt embarrass them when they start school :D

:) :) Hope it's a good match and Man U actually start playing some good football this season, hubby supports Man City(poor thing) so it's always good fun in our house on Derby day :D

And with the news of Owen in Madrid taking medicals already, to join Real, you must have enough to worry about :D I know what you mean about the whole thing though, do you know only half the tickets have been sold?

It's look like a world premier for a movie, that the olympics, even the QM2 is docked there with all the rich folks flunting their wealth.
