Default oil and gas in Nova Scotia.

Please, is there any oil and gas industry in Nova Scotia, in which region it's based?

Not to my knowledge...yet!

Shell are going to be digging around soon but it's not a sure thing yet!

Have you looked in to Alberta? They have more than we do...

There is natural gas on Sable Island which is piped to Halifax. I have no idea how big the attendant industry is though. The main users are industry, mainly in the Burnside Industrial Park, and hospitals. Sadly, the chances of widespread domestic distribution are slim to none because of the cost of conversion and the politics invilved.

ExxonMobil has the Sable Field just off Sable Island comprising the Thebaud Platform , Venture Platform , South Venture Platform and the Alma platform (All gas platforms). Their gas is pipelined to shore at Goldboro Gas plant

Encana is currently in the commissioning stage of the Deep Panuke platform which is due to begin producing gas around October
