There is only Eastlink and Bell to choose from - they are basically as bad as each other and you can hop from one to the other to get the best deals.

From my 6 months experience I would suggest forgetting about cable/satellite tv and go for netflix and a VPN. We pay a lot of money currently for Eastlink and it's rubbish!!!

Hi, this is Lamin's wife... Just a quick question to clarify - is it rubbish because of the service they provide or customer service - or is it rubbish because it's not british tv and you don't like the shows/channels that they have? I'm just curious because I'm Cdn and don't mind the shows/channels here in Canada but hubby hates it and would rather watch british tv.

Thanks for your replies.

We had Eastlink and ditched the TV part. Expensive for what I thought was a poor selection peppered with constant commercial breaks.
I found I was saving shows to the PVR and watching them at when it suited me. That way I could skip the breaks.
Now I use a VPN to stream from the UK/USA and download everything else.

Well it's very expensive compared to what we had in the UK. We have "on demand" which I thought would give us some good movies but most of them are old movies I've seen before.
Also and this is Eastlink rather than tv, I just can't get on with the "menu". Again maybe I'm still too "hooked" on UK tv.

You can get Shaw TV down here in Southwest NS, don't know how good it is, but they have been running promotions. We started out with Eastlink and then changed to Bell. Prefer the latter for the programs/hd channels and customer service. (Even after a year, thinking about the "service" we got from Eastlink still makes me mad )

We also have Netflix, although it is older programmes and movies, we have found it excellent value.

We have Eastlink for phone, tv and internet. All has been fine so far, good customer service and reasonably priced IMO. We're not TV addicts so don't mind the quality of TV programs or miss much from the UK. To be honest, it's usually on a kids channel for cartoons for our children. I watch the news, some documentaries and the odd football (sorry, soccer!) game. The wife watches Greys Anatomy, Peak Practice, CSI, etc and if we want anything else (movies) I download them. On the odd occasion we want a UK show, I use expat shield and go on BBC iPlayer.
