NS-CIS more info needed

Hi all, Does anyone know anything about the NS-CIS option? and can you explain some of these abbreviations around it such as RDA?

Thanks to the wonderful Judy in Calgary who brought this scheme to my attention with a great link to Wiki. But i would like to here actual people and there dealings with the scheme and what is the best way to start.

We can afford to buy a house in NS and are keen on Pictou and New Glasgow areas. We would look to be self sufficient in Canada by being self employed and are looking to settle in NS only.

If anyone has been through this I would love to here how the process went. I have already heard from a couple of BE members but would love to hear anymore examples.

Thanks for your time.

These threads may provide some light reading until someone else comes along and answers your questions:
Any Brits living in Nova Scotia ? - Not about Nova Scotia Community Identified Stream (NS-CIS) specifically, but included a response from someone who gained entry to Canada by that route.

Community Identified Program - Halifax RDA - The first post by LiffyB is excellent.

Nova Scotia Recce- our trip(if interested??!!) - Includes some info about NS-CIS.

Nova Scotia-Community Identified Stream

Nova Scotia Community Identified Stream - the facts

Truro, Colchester, NS, Community Identified Pre-Wiki - Excellent first post by wbexpat.

Nova Scotia Community Identified Stream - More good info from wbexpat.
Just don't do it like this:

We've been talking to Jana at PRDC, she's very helpful and very enthusiastic.
We were originally going over with CORDA but a job offer in Pictou has forced us to change plans and look at Pictou/New Glasgow.
Good luck
