NS CI stream - Anybody moved away from their initial community?
This site has always been so helpful but I am asking this question because I can't seem to find any answer on the search function.
We gained PR through the CI stream 18 months ago but we are no longer happy living in the area that supported our application. We don't want to leave NS just this particular area. Before I ask officially I wondered if anyone had done this before or does anyone know if there will be any problem with it? Thanks.

My only recollection of formal commitment was signing the PNP application which stated you would update NS immigration for 3 years your address details, this doesnt seem to formally state that you are obliged to even stay in NS, think this has been debated a lot as its is unclear how enforceable any of this is once you have PR. It could be argued if you looked to leave the Province that nominated you immediately that you mislead on the application etc, but this isnt relevent in your situation as you are staying in NS anyway.
I dont think you will have any issues if you are moving region within NS, particularly as you have been where you are for a while, its not like you have moved as soon as you gained PR.
What are your reasons for moving, personal choice or work etc?
Below is an extract from the PNP form, this form is generic to all routes via the PNP not just CI stream where you are confirming your location details for 3 years
I declare that I agree to provide the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration with my contact information
(address, telephone, fax, email) within 30 days of arriving in Canada and to inform the Nova Scotia Office
of Immigration of any change of address or telephone number for a period of three years after landing in
Canada.
I understand all the statements, for the authority to collect and disclose personal information and this
declaration, and have asked for and received an explanation on every point that was not clear to me.

Thank you for replying.
Edward there were no specifics, just as nikkidreaming quoted the only commitment was to advise immigration of any change of address within 3 years.
nikkidreaming - for work mainly but also the area we are in doesn't quite feel like home and we thought we would like to try a different area of NS. Like you, I don't think it will be an issue but I am not entirely sure if moving counties will go against my terms of PR. I am also afraid of asking in case it attracts unwanted attention from the immigration office. thank you for your help.
