Default nova scotia recce - cottage rental?

I'm going over to NS with my other half on a recce trip to investigate emigrating. Rather than stay in hotels all the time we'd like to rent a cottage for a week - cheaper and would give us more of a flavour of living there! I was wondering if anyone knew of any cottages for rent/rental companies that would be good to look at?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Here is one that does both vacation and long-term rentals,

let'srent.ca

Brian and Stella van der Lugt tel (001 902 273 2204) don't forget 4 hours behind UK ie, noon here 8:00 am there.

Although they cover all of Canada, they are based in Nova Scotia. It is run by a really nice Dutch lady and her husband, they have been very helpful on the phone.

Also try Kijiji.ca then Halifax for Nova Scotia. Under categories, try vacation rentals. Kijiji is a free classified site.

I will see if I can think of any more that I have come across. We did a reccie last year through New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia for five weeks, stayed mostly motels and a few B&B's.

I can second that Stella is a very nice lady and has helped some of my friends find temporary accomodation. I met her when I was scouting out properties for them and she seems very professional.

And there is another agency that rents cottages that I know of and some of our neighbours rent their houses through them.
They are called Cottage Connection in Nova Scotia and their website is stayinnovascotia dot com

Hi

You could also try www.thequaichapartments.com

Run by 2 expats I believe and it is like a home from home, I've heard.

We are staying there for our recce in Sept.
