Hi Stuart,
That sounds good about the driving! We are going over in April and have some appointments. We applied for PR Feb 08, but I have got a place in college so we are going over on my Student Visa. Bit scary, going to full time college at 40 but never mind. We are not sure which part of NS yet, but my college is in Halifax so somewhere close would be good. What sort of work do you do?

You are lucky going over in April, I'm jealous. Last time we went in April we had tonnes of snow, it took us nine hrs to get from the airprt to cape breton. (wasnt suppose to snow then!)It was a fantastic holiday. Dont think we will go again until we get our visas , whenever that will be, applied under self employed category in march 2007 so have no idea.Havent started processing it yet It is really horrible at times feel like my life is on hold. I am new to these forums but it is really interesting hearing different peoples experiences. At least i dont have to sell the house in this climate thats the only good thing.

Hi!
We cant wait to go. Heard it will still be cold in April but not snow!!! We put our house up for sale about a month ago and heard nothing yet. That bit is pretty scary. This forum is great for finding out info, I mooch around on here a lot! I know what you mean about your life being on hold. Have you got any children? Us Stokies will all have to stay in touch!

Air canada from Heathrow are £400 ish for that date and direct.

I dont know your circumstances but what about staying in a cheap hotel at heathrow the night before. It would save all the extra messing about going into Toronto

Or you could get a cab. It is about 150GBP one way from Stoke so budget a bit more for being a little further north.

And we could end up being "almost neighbours" all over again soon.

Good luck with the job hunting. What field are you looking in?

Hey Stuart

Don't know if this helps but we have paid £2,246.80, but that is for 3 adults and 1 child. We are flying from Heathrow and changing in New York. On the way back we are staying in New York for 3 days for my daughters 16th birthday present. We are flying with Continental. This is in April.

Hi Lisa,
I've looked at several options the cheapest was with Canadian Affair Manchester - Toronto (£896 - 2 adults 2 kids) then using west jet approx £350. Leave Man at 9:15 arrive Halifax 20:00. OH concerned as it might be too longer day for youngest
