Canada is so large that most have rarely explored the country beyond their own province. I'm sure if you were to quiz people in Alberta who talk poorly of Nova Scotia, they're just basing their opinions from what they've read in the news - I doubt you'll find many have actually been there!

But it's true - chalk and cheese. Nova Scotia's equally as far away from Alberta as it is from England. The two places have their own local culture. An Albertan would get culture shock if they moved to Nova Scotia, and vice versa.
