I see what you mean.. looks like there's a current total of two jobs listed up there..

First one looks like a good opportunity, employment counsellor:

And computer trainer..10 hours/week for $8 per hour!

That was exactly my point in a previous post. When you're earning $80 per week even a $70k house seems pretty expensive!

Although as you say there is also the Employment Counsellor job - probably a very busy position conselling all the unemployed people of the region

Does someone know companies in Nova Scotia who already have pre-approved LMO's and will support PNP applications?

Thanks

So lots of jobs all at least an hour away from Tatamagouche (the town we're talking about, remember post #9?). I know those roads and the winter conditions here, definitely not winter commute I'd recommend to anyone..

Quite - I can't see the relevance of listing jobs in completely different areas. For that matter why not just list jobs in Halifax or Fredericton. They're not much use to someone living in Tatamawhatsit. And I certainly don't see the relevance of just listing economic development agencies and government departments - what is that supposed to indicate? But then in a previous thread the arrival of Bulk Barn in Truro was supposed to be an indication of an unprecidented economic boom in Tatamagouch (over an hour away) according to ontheboat!

Let's be realisic here. Knowing this area well, I just wonder how many of these companies/organisations would even look at resume from an overseas candidate? My OH was recently interviewing candidates for a job at Cornwallis. The best one lived 60 kms away, and the main objection to him getting the job was that he was 'from away' and wouldn't fit in, despite the fact he was Canadian

That's the third time you've posted the same link on this thread, anyway, I'm just trying to offer a pragmatic point of view for those planning to find work in an area that has enough variety for families of all ages and sizes.

And careful about trying to hard, you don't want people start worrying about this happening to them when they think of the "north shore", do you?

I've read much of this site and have decided that Nova Scotia is probably the best place for me, mainly due to the milder climate. I've looked at lots of different towns but it is very hard to get an idea of a place from a few pictures.

I'm a townie, so don't want to live out in the sticks. I've lived near to the sea for most of my life so would prefer a place like that, and finally I am really into Drama so would have to be in an area with a local drama society. If anyone knows of a town that may fit this description please get back to me. I know that work will also play a large part in where I settle but if I find a suitable town I can start looking.

Thanks very much

Daisy x

Got to be near Halifax. The nice thing about NS is you can live in a country setting but you're only just outside Halifax city. Good pubs and nightlife aswell.

teehhee its -17 at the mo.

Now there is another who will say North Shore each and every time. ME .

Maybe you should expend some of your energy on promoting where you live on here rather than slating others who feel passionately about the area they have choosen to live.

This forum is about people who want to know more on a particular subject getting honest answers from members on the forum. Everyone has his/her own slant on things however on this forum and there is nothing wrong with having passion for a place
