I noted from this forum and from reading the paper in Halifax and those real estate leaflets you can pickup on the street corners that prices for homes are very reasonable. Have a great visit and good luck with the house and employment search. |

Re: Nova Scotia
Harsh winters in Nova Scotia? Dont make me laugh. Last NS winter was mild compared to ours in NL. Why I hear it was hardly neccessary to get your snowblower out more than half a dozen times over the whole winter! ;)

Re: Nova Scotia
I must say this was a mild winter and not really the norm in NS. Saying that though, most winters in Canada are harsh with snow and cold, so if you really don't like either of those elements I wouldn't bother coming to Canada. Harsh winters all over Canada, even BC has rain beyond belief sometimes! Never fear you will get used to it!

Nova Scotia certainly seems to be becoming more popular as a destination. Despite what some people may imply, there are a good number of people happy to be here! For information, it does not close on Sunday - the large stores are shut, but there are plenty of smaller shops and places open if that is what you want/need. Hope that is of some help.Feel free to PM me if you have any particular questions. Deborah |
