News Show

Hi,
Do you know of any descent current affairs news show on Canadian/US(avail in Canada) channels?
I have tried PBS (Lehrer) of which i had high expextations, but disappointed easily. It's all takes from British ITN with terrible links by the presenter.
CTV news is too much local. By far only CBC national and the half hour BBC World are OK.
Do you know of any one better?

OK, so thats 90 mins of quality news a day, how much more do you need! I find CTV newsworld shows many intersting documentaries, as does PBS, but it depends what you are looking for. Have to agree US coverage is universally poor. Depressing to watch too much current affairs anyway if you ask me.

I find it's pretty much hit and miss on TV. Sometimes '60 Minutes' from the US is ok, as is W5 but often I find them too irritating to watch. Marketplace is usually pretty good for business and consumer info. Frontline/FrontlineWorld on pbs are usually alright. There are excellent documentaries on CBC - The Passionate Eye, Witness, The Fifth Estate, Rough Cuts, etc...

I, and probably the majority of other Canadians, get their more indepth news coverage from the radio or newspapers and from Monday Report. :)
