Just wanted to say hello to everyone before I start bombarding you with annoying questions :wink_smile:
We are right at the very beginning of the process and trying to get our heads around everything thats needed and figure out where is best for us to move to. Planning a trip over in a few months so we can travel to the places on our short list (once we have one) and make a final decision. But first IELTS and ECA.
I have been lurking around for a few weeks and a lot of my questions have been asked and answered already so its good to know that I'm not the only one who is finding this less than straight forward.

I'm also at the very beginning of the process. Basically have decided to do it but have done almost nothing else. Have been reading a lot around it and, as a nurse, don't even know how to go about choosing a place to possibly live!

We are quite lucky with jobs. Im a ships officer and my Fiance is an offshore crane operator so we can live anywhere and travel to join ships anywhere we need to so its more of a case of where we like the look of than any job requirements. We have not done much either, really only established that we should qualify and started looking into fees and getting certificates recognised and I'm my case revalidation in Canada.

I too am at the start of the research our move, It's quite exciting, my youngest 2 kids have told the school we are moving and we are actually looking at 3-4 years for this to happen.
Jobs arent important to me as i was wanting to retire (age50 with 30 years in the fire service) but i'm possibly going to have to rethink that

Just double checking, but assuming you are eligible under Express Entry, have you also checked your points score on the CRS? It's just that the CIC website often tells people they're eligible to apply under EE, but doesn't mention that they will be in a pool of applicants after applying and only the highest scoring are selected and invited to apply for PR.

I'm sure you've got it all sorted and know you would score enough, but a lot think they're eligible when in fact they wouldn't get PR, so just thought I'd mention it!

Nice to see a fellow nurse who is also thinking of beginning a new life in Canada. If your thinking of going to Toronto maybe i could give you my opinion; i worked for a nursing agency in Toronto for 3 yrs on a WHV as a nurse coordinator/ops manager.

I have just received my ECA for my midwifery and nursing qualifications and having my ILETS exam on Saturday, which terrifies me more than i thought it would!

Hopefully it will be nice to keep motivated through this process with other newbie's.

Yes we have checked both. I can understand how a lot of people must miss it though. I originally just checked EE saw we scored high enough and thought well thats all good then. It was only this forum that alerted me to CRS otherwise I would have had a panic further down the line.

Yep, they're a bit sneaky! I know it's on the CIC website, but I wish they'd make it clear as part of the eligibility test. Glad BE helped and glad you're scoring enough, that's fab.
