With the new regulations, will the personal funds requirement for immigration change from $10 000?

There is currently the expectation that this amount will be raised to the following
figures by June 28th.

1 person (the sponsor) $17,886 2 persons $22,357 3 persons $27,805 4 persons
$33,658 5 persons $37,624 6 persons $41,590 7 persons $45,556 For each additional
person $3,966

It is possible that these figures will be reconsidered, as the skilled proposed
worker criteria is under scrutiny at present.

Yes, new law requires settlement funds in the amount equal or greater to those listed
in LICO table for the urban areas with the population of 500,000 or more. Current
LICO (Low Income Cut-Off) table which is effective until June 28, 2002 states the
following amounts:

1 person $17,886 2 persons $22,357 3 persons $27,805 4 persons $33,658 5 persons
$37,624 6 persons $41,590 7 persons $45,556 For each additional person $3,966
