Hi - I have lived in Regina for over 30 years. Welcome to the boards. There are loads of people moving to Ontario so your experiences should prove useful to them.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. We have been here now for a few years, belong to a few expat clubs and all that. Brantford is just outside Toronto, and a short drive from Hamilton.

The population is not all that big, but it's a nice place to live, housing is reasonable, and the place has a lot of history to it. It's also the home of Alexander G Bell. ( The phone inventor )

Likely the same fellow as Wayne Gretzky. Curiously, he was a hero to Canadian men while Canadian women thought him effeminate. He's an American now.

Wayne Gretzky was NOT born in Brampton! I'm sure you meant Brantford. He went to the states to play hockey but one of the main reasons for moving there was because he married Janet Jones, an American actress.

We have relatives living in Brantford and are visiting in July. They live not far from the Wayne Gretzky Parkway.

When did you decide to leave Emmerdale?

Never heard that one before, but it's funny :-) If you are going to be around in July, drop us a pm or something. That area you mentioned, has all the shops and malls

Welcome pollard, i found this site only recently and wished i'd seen it ages ago, i've been to Hamilton which reminds me of Middlesborough with its industry, but never went to brantford and wish we had...........
Brantford and London could be an area we'd choose to settle what town in the UK compares to Brantford...........
