Default Canadian Dollar

I've been watching the CAD over the last six months and can't believe how strong it's become against the GBP, surely it has to bottom out at some point.

Anybody have an thoughts

That would be virtual parity with the USD, I can't see that happening. I think although the USA and the UK are economically in the shit, the Canadian economy has got to get sucked into the mix. This will be killing Canadian exports and subsequently killing the job market.

They need to start printing money to bring the Loonie back down.

Lets not forget that it was only a year or so ago that the loonie WAS at parity with the USD.

Good for some, but no so good for those of us who rely on exporting to the US!

This is playing havoc with our proof of funds. Required funds started off around 18,000 CAD three years ago, so we put the money in the bank, then we put extra in to cover increases to present 20100 CAD, now we have to keep topping it up at 300GBP a go to cater for exchange rates. Or am I doing something wrong here?

When they check your docs do they check proof of funds against that day's exchange rate or is there another milestone along the process which it is marked against?
