Why did you go so slowly? This morning I again did the 70miles in from that direction in an hour and a quarter. Perhaps what you need is a vehicle suitable for rapid travel on mixed roads, something able to take corners quickly and cope with getting airborne as well as cruising comfortably at high speed on the highway stretches. Perhaps you need to trade that Lotus and roll bar (you must know what Ian Dury sang about people with roll bars) for a Beetle.

That's funny!

I got 4 speeding tickets when we lived there and another 2 in Northern Ontario whilst driving over here! Just my luck, never had one before or since. You like me Lotus?

I love those cars. The colour is, er, remarkable.

Thanks, I built it from scratch. 5.0L Ford engine 300bhp! Goes well.

A Mustang gearbox then. Does it have the six speed and, if not, isn't 5th a bit low for such a light car?

Not terribly authentic then. Did Colin Chapman ever put anything that heavy in a car?

Re: New guy here

No it's 5 speed and I'm sure it'd take off before it gets to 130mph. I've already lost lots of hair tugged out by the buffeting. The plan is to sell them as kits to the North American crowd. I'm not to worried about authenticity as the market here is all geared towards V8's and with the car being somewhat wider than standard it's good for folks with big arses such as myself. I don't think Mr Chapman would have been too impressed, although he might have been by the acceleration. It does handle really well too, if I could get this rollbar sorted I'd take it autocrossing.

If she do have it's no good to me, such an age gap would be unseemly.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of price range do you have in mind:)

Does it qualify for the federal ecoauto rebate:D

federal ecoauto rebate:rofl:

As a body/chassis kit around $12k, will probably cost $25k to build yourself or $35k+ for someone else to do it. Depends on spec really. I was hoping to have them ready for sale this Fall but a kind gentleman waved a big wad of notes under my nose and has persuaded me to build him an MGRV8 replica over the winter. Requires Mustang running gear, Miata front hubs, lots of sundry items.

Currently finishing off the body molds, pic.

Sweet, way more fun for the money than a Miata or gay VW I imagine.

All screams "mid life crisis" unfortunatley

I guess you could spec one with a 2.0 VW TDi engine and DSG tranny for the sake of my concience. Now, where did I leave that winning lotto ticket. Oh shit, thats right, I dont have one yet.

Hon, the only thing more fun for the money than a gay VW is called Austin-Healey.
