Works great over Apple TV. However we got an email from Primus yesterday to tell us that due to a CRTC ruling in favour of Bell we will no longer have unlimited download. Looks like to use netflix a reasonable amount is going to cost us about an extra $10/month in internet fees.

I blow through my cap on Cogeco every month and that costs me an extra $30 + HST!

Experiences like that make me feel less sillybfor not wanting to move out of our complex, which has no Internet cap.
Some people might think it's a bad reason for deciding where to live but I suspect it's going to become more and more of an issue.

Hard to say how much we will use. We get 25Gb included - which is not much. $10 buys an additional 80Gb. I think Primus is still the best option when combined with home phone (no cable tv of course!). We are probably looking at about $75 + tax with free calls to Canada, NA and Europe.

This may change with the new ruling. It seems unlimited will go as Bell will be able to charge third party suppliers for usage which was not previously the case. Dunno.

We have a Telus direct wired fibre network. Goes through it's own network centre here by the complex. Not sure it connects to Bell's systems.

If you're classing the selection as crap based on it doesn't have all the latest releases that are just out on Blu-Ray, then yes. However there is actually plenty on there, you just need to browse to see it.

Yeah, I can only find about 2,000+ hours that I want to watch on it from a few scans through the material. Their selection is increasing steadily. I love the fact that today they just put the first three seasons of Farscape up.

It's getting really tiring hearing from people who say this is "shit" because it doesn't have <insert new release here>. Once you understand that its not a replacement for brand new releases, for $8 a month, it's frickin incredible...
What do you get on cable for $8 a month? Not a bleedin lot - a couple of shitty channels or maybe one on demand movie!

Then don't read the thread. Then you don't have to deal with pesky people with differing opinions.
Pretty big assumption there re: looking for brand new releases. That's not what we look for at all. Videomatica works well for us because it has a lot of indie stuff and stuff that is really hard to find in north america. IF netflix improves it's selection dramatically then we'll reconsider but of the friends that have it, many have found the selection really disappointing and warned us about it.

I tried NetFlix. Their screwy schedule mixed in with Canada Post's pure incompetence and snow makes it a nightmare! Stream instead! Works a charm for me!
