Need some good advice on RELATIVES issue
I am a Filipino presently living in Japan with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and working as an Asst. Professor in a Japanese university. I have a plan to immigrate to Canada. I made an on-line assessment of myself a few days back and I got 72 points, 3 points shy of the passing mark. However, if I CAN declare my uncle and aunt who are now Canadian citizens, I will be able to get 5 more points. The problem is, they are my aunt and uncle in law. My eldest brother married to their niece. I know them by heart and vice versa. I even visited them last March in Vancouver. Is it possible to declare them as aunt and uncle under the category of relatives in the canadian immigration rules? Thank you in advance!
